No. Every public question on 7BillionMinds has its own permanent URL that anyone can visit without logging in. You can browse questions, see results and demographic breakdowns, and read comments — all without an account. You only need to sign up if you want to post your own questions, vote, comment, or follow other users.
Any yes-or-no question that can be meaningfully answered with "Yes" or "No." Questions must be clear, complete, and coherent. They cannot be gibberish, incomplete sentences, or statements disguised as questions. Our AI also checks question quality before publishing, so vague or unanswerable questions will be flagged for revision.
Our AI-powered semantic similarity engine compares your question against every existing question on the platform — not by matching keywords, but by understanding meaning. Two questions about the same topic are allowed if they ask genuinely different things. For example, "Will Bitcoin hit $100k?" and "Will Bitcoin crash in 2025?" are both permitted because they express different ideas, but "Is Bitcoin going to reach one hundred thousand dollars?" would be caught as a semantic duplicate of the first.
If the AI detects that your question is too similar to one that already exists, it will show you the matching question with a similarity score. You can then revise your wording to ask something genuinely different, or browse the existing question and vote on it instead. This keeps the platform clean and prevents the same idea from being asked dozens of different ways.
Yes. When posting a question you can toggle it to "private." A private question generates a unique access code that you can share with specific people. Anyone with the code can vote; everyone else can see the results but cannot cast a vote. The question author can always vote without entering a code. Private questions do not appear in the public feed — they are only accessible via their direct link.
Absolutely. When composing a question you can choose from categories such as News, Sports, Politics, Science, Math, Technology, Health, Philosophy, Entertainment, Environment, Business, or General. Categories help other users discover your question and let you filter the feed by topic. If you do not choose a category, the question defaults to General.
Questions on 7BillionMinds are designed to be permanent — that is part of the platform's philosophy of building a lasting archive of human opinion. However, if a question violates community guidelines or contains personal information, you can contact our team for review through the Contact page.
Each question has two buttons: Yes and No. Tap one to cast your vote. You can vote on as many questions as you like, but you can only vote once per question — there is no way to change your vote after it is submitted. When you vote, the demographic information from your profile (age, gender, nationality, religion, ethnicity) is recorded alongside your response to power the analytics.
Every question has a dedicated analytics dashboard that shows the overall yes/no split and detailed breakdowns by age group, gender, nationality, religion, and ethnicity. Visualizations include bar charts and pie charts that update in real time as new votes come in. There is also a global analytics page that shows platform-wide trends, most active categories, and demographic voting patterns across all questions.
Your vote is associated with your account internally so you cannot vote twice on the same question, but other users cannot see how you voted. The analytics only display aggregate demographic patterns — for example, "70% of voters aged 18–25 said Yes" — and never individual responses. Your username, real name, and email are never linked to your vote publicly.

Comments support threaded replies (one level deep), so you can respond directly to other users' comments. Each comment and reply can be liked individually. The comment system is designed to encourage thoughtful discussion around each question.
Yes. You can follow other users to stay connected with their activity. The Discover page lets you search for and browse users on the platform. Following someone is a way to show interest in their questions and perspectives.
Absolutely. Every question has a unique public URL (e.g., 7billionminds.com/q/abc123) that you can share on Twitter/X, Facebook, WhatsApp, Reddit, or any other platform. The shared link includes a rich preview with the question text and voting stats, so recipients can see what the question is about before they click through.
Likes let you express appreciation for a question without necessarily voting on it. Reposts are a way to boost a question's visibility. Both are visible on the question card as social proof. You can like and repost any public question once.
When you submit a question, it is sent to our semantic AI engine which uses natural language understanding to compare it against every existing question on the platform. Unlike simple keyword matching, the AI understands meaning, context, and intent. It evaluates how conceptually similar your question is to existing ones and returns a similarity score. Questions above a certain threshold are flagged as potential duplicates, and you are shown the matching question so you can decide whether to revise.
